Shipments and Returns

1. Shipping

1.1 Processing time

Orders are processed and dispatched within 1–2 business days after payment confirmation. Orders placed on weekends or public holidays are processed on the next business day.

1.2 Shipping destinations and carriers

We ship to the following destinations:

  • Latvia: Omniva, DPD, Latvijas Pasts (parcel machines, courier delivery)
  • European Union: DPD, UPS (courier delivery with tracking)
  • Other countries: please contact us at info@aquaplants.biz for a personal quote

All shipments are sent with a tracking number, which we send to the buyer by e-mail as soon as the parcel is handed over to the carrier.

1.3 Shipping costs and delivery time

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the total weight of the order and the destination country. The exact amount will be shown before payment.

Estimated delivery times:

  • Latvia: 1–3 business days
  • EU countries: 3–7 business days

Delivery times are indicative and do not include customs clearance in non-EU destinations.

1.4 Packaging of live plants

Live aquatic plants are perishable goods. We pack them with professional care — moist insulation, cooling or warming elements depending on the season, and secure protection against mechanical damage. Despite our best efforts, shipping times beyond 5 days may affect plant condition, which is why we dispatch orders early in the week whenever possible.

2. Returns and Right of Withdrawal

2.1 Your right of withdrawal (EU Directive 2011/83/EU)

Under European Union consumer protection law, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase without giving any reason within 14 days of receiving the goods.

To exercise this right, please inform us of your decision by a clear statement sent to info@aquaplants.biz. You can use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not mandatory.

2.2 Exception for perishable goods — live plants

In accordance with Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU and the Latvian Consumer Rights Protection Law (Patērētāju tiesību aizsardzības likums), the right of withdrawal does not apply to the supply of goods which are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly.

Live aquatic plants fall within this exception because they require continuous care (light, water, temperature) and their condition changes significantly once shipped. Therefore, live plants cannot be returned for a refund once they have been dispatched, unless they arrive damaged or not matching the order.

2.3 Returns of non-perishable items

Items such as equipment, accessories, substrates, fertilisers and dry goods can be returned within 14 days in unused and resalable condition, in their original packaging.

Return procedure:

  1. Contact us at info@aquaplants.biz with your order number and the items you wish to return.
  2. We will provide return instructions and the return address.
  3. Ship the items back with a tracked service. Return shipping costs are borne by the buyer.
  4. After we receive and inspect the goods, we refund the purchase price via the original payment method within 14 days.

2.4 Damaged or incorrect deliveries

If you receive a damaged parcel or items that do not match your order, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the packaging and the product. We will either replace the item or refund your purchase in full, including return shipping if applicable.

For live plants that arrive visibly damaged, photo evidence taken on the day of delivery is required for refund or replacement.

2.5 Refunds

Approved refunds are processed within 14 days of receiving the returned goods (or confirming the claim, in the case of damaged live plants). Refunds are made to the original payment method used at checkout.
